3 Reasons Women Need A Pocket Knife

1. Emergency Preparedness

A pocket knife can go a long way in an emergency. In a car accident, you may need to cut a seatbelt or break the glass. In a medical emergency, you may need to cut bandages, sterilize a wound, and get debris out, or improvise a splint or bandage from clothing.

2. Everyday Tasks:

I use my pocket knife often throughout the day, even at home. Every time I need to open a box or a piece of mail, break down a box (jk, that’s my husband’s job), work in the yard, and numerous other times, I’m glad it’s within reach.

Outside the house, it’s helpful for the most random things. Whenever we get coffee, my husband cuts the vent hole in the lid to make it easier to drink. I’ve fished rocks out of the soles of my sneakers, cut errant threads, cut off wristbands from the museum, and so much more.

3. Self-Defense:

A pocket knife is a good idea for a backup self-defense option. I say backup because you’re likely not trained in knife fighting, and a blade can do a lot of damage if you don’t know what you’re doing. Of course, if it’s a life-or-death situation and that’s all you have, use it.

I carry a knife daily and would use it for self-defense if I had to. I don’t have much training, but it’s my life over anyone else. As you already know, my primary mode of self-defense is a concealed firearm, and I would always grab for that first.

The link will take you to my absolute favorite pocket knife. My husband and I have each carried this one for around a decade. He really beats his up, and it still works perfectly with routine sharpening.

It’s easy to open with one hand (important in an emergency!) even with my small hands. It opens fast and reliably every single time.

I think I’ve gifted this knife to at least 5 people as well.
